Memorization Techniques Without Hypnosis

Posted by mallton on September 15th, 2009

Many of us have a hard time remembering numbers, words are usually easier because you can associate them with an object. For instance, if I asked you to remember the word “book”, a picture of a book appears in your mind, but if I said remember 3984, then most of us would not be able to remember it after a few minutes of not seeing it.

So how can we try and conquer this problem?

One of the best ways is to use your eyes and ears to help you picture the number in your mind.
As I mentioned earlier, if I said remember 3984, it can easily be forgotten, but if I wrote three-nine-eight-four, then it may make it easier?

Another way is to visualize the number, try and picture it as huge writing in the sky encrusted with sparkling diamonds, see it everywhere you look. You can also make up rhymes to help you remember it: Three-nine-eight-four what is this number for?  Or something similar but memorable to you, maybe use a well known song or tune that you love instead?

As we know it is easier to remember words, so why not convert the numbers to words?
A=0, B=1, C=2 and so on?
3984 becomes DJIE.
This is barely easier to remember than the number, so turn it into an acronym like DJ is evil, this is much easier to remember. Just the exercise of working out the number from the letters will eventually help burn it into your memory.

Covert or Conversational Hypnosis Explained

Posted by mallton on September 14th, 2009

Covert hypnosis, sometimes referred to as conversational hypnosis, has been widely used for many years and most of us do not have a clue what it is about. It is more powerful than you can ever imagine because it works in our unconscious mind without our knowledge and produces unbelievable results. Depending on whether it has been used in an ethical manner or not the results can be either very good or simply disastrous. Covert or conversational hypnosis is a set of techniques which uses the right language to induce trance in a normal conversation or when speaking to a group of people. This can range from just two or three people to as many as a large audience of thousands. Some of the techniques are the rhythm, tonalities and pace of speech; the raising of emotion, use of metaphors and mental images. All of these techniques have been used not only by ordinary people in every day life but also by groups of politicians and large corporations in the sales training departments. Obviously, conversational or covert hypnosis is not as straight forward as many people think. As a matter of fact it has to be ‘played’ with the precision of an orchestra to be effective and to make an individual or group of people agree and contribute unconditionally with you. Once you acquire and master covert or conversational hypnosis you will be able to manipulate situations in your favor and your persuasion abilities will turn from average to outstanding. Conversational or covert hypnosis is used by politicians when trying to convince people to vote for them. Politicians and sales persons are particularly good at one of the techniques called pacing and leading. ‘Pacing’ consists in telling the individual or groups of people three statements that are incontestable or in other words the absolute truth for them. Once this phase has been completed the ‘leading’ statement is introduced which is the outcome that you want them to realise or believe. After that you do two ‘pacings’ and two ‘leadings’ and then one ‘pacing’ and three ‘leadings’. Of course you have to use different wordings to say the same thing in a way the individual or groups don’t realise what is going on. This is very effective and was used in all of Barack Obama’s speeches according to experts. Indeed all his speeches were very powerful and the results led him to a victory that will go down in history for reasons we all know. Covert or conversational hypnosis was discovered by Milton Erickson, an American psychiatrist. Due to an infection that paralysed him from the waist down, he had enough time to observe people and see the non verbal language and how important it was. He taught himself to walk again after using the power of indirect suggestion and later in life he developed this method and advocated keeping it only in the medical circles to avoid any misuse. There are many courses that can be bought online to help learn all about theses techniques. However, if you are new to this and want to learn more about this skill it can be very confusing to know which ones are any good. 5 Key Steps to Having the Body of Your Dreams

Posted by mallton on September 13th, 2009

The diet industry would not want you to know what I’m about to share with you, so let’s not tell them, okay? And put your wallet away – this one’s for free and this one’s on me. I’ve spent the last 67 years of my life thinking I was fat. I got so good at it that I turned it into obesity at one point.

I cannot recall a single moment when I didn’t want this curse to go away, so I spent more and more of my waking moments searching for a cure. Boy, did I find one, and that’s what I want to share with you so that you can experience the hope that you can have the body of your dreams and you don’t have to diet and exercise to get it.

In all of my searching for a solution for being fat, and using obesity as a catalyst, I discovered the truth of life: this wonderful experience we all have in common is a mental experience. Everything that happens in your life (yes, folks, even the stuff we’ve been blaming on some Higher Power) has happened because you thought it first. Now this fact would require a whole book of explanation, but I want to give you some how-to’s to let you get started, so could you please just trust me on this “it’s all mental” concept for right now, because I’m going to provide some tools for you to use so you can prove it to yourself as I did.

There are five key steps to having the body of your dreams and here they are:

1. Create a Mind Model

2. Actively Meditate on Your Mind Model Three Times Daily

3. Set a Timer for 15 minutes

4. Pat Yourself On The Back Nightly, And Then Make Your Resolution For The Following Day.

5. Persevere

1. Create a Mind Model. A Mind Model is a list of right thoughts you want to think about your new dream body.

I. What is the main thing you want to accomplish? Write it down.

A. Think of five sub-ideas that feed into your main idea. Write them down. B. C. D. E.

a. Now, think of five sub-ideas for each of the five feeder sub-ideas and write them down. b. c. d. e.

When you’re finished with the main idea, the sub ideas and their sub-subs, you’ll have 31 ideas all about the Main Idea you want to accomplish.

Type this up, print several copies (your purse, your work area, by the chair where you watch TV, in front of the sink where you brush your teeth in the morning, one for where you wash dishes, and one for in the car) to remind you and keep you on track. This is your Mind Model. This is what you are going to think about yourself specifically and with intention in Step 2. Remember, in this mental universe I mentioned, each one of the 31 ideas came from within your mind.

2. Actively Meditate on Your Mind Model Three Times Daily. Right thought requires someone to think it. You created 31 right thoughts about the body of your dreams in Step One and now you get to think it. As you are thinking each of the 31 right ideas you crafted, enjoy them as succulent pieces of the new you about to emerge. Sink into the gorgeousness of the you that crafted them and hold in mind that you are working toward a state of absolute conviction that those 31 right thoughts are true about you right now.

Where do you go for validation? Your mirror? No, it’s not there yet. Go inside your mind where those 31 thoughts came from in the first place. They are there and that is absolutely true right now. If you know it’s true about you right now, it will manifest forth onto your body. Be on the lookout for doubt and fear. They cannot be tolerated as part of this process or you will defeat what you want to accomplish. If you catch yourself thinking thoughts about yourself that are not on this Mind Model list, stop yourself from thinking them. It’s the old habit of how you currently think about yourself (and which caused your body to look as it currently does) that we are trying to replace with something fresh, new and more accurate. This old thought habit certainly hasn’t created something you are comfortable with, has it? You can revive it.

3. Set a Timer for 15 Minutes. In the beginning, concentrating on only one set of right ideas might be challenging for you. This means turning off all outside influence: TV, cell phone, text messages, friends dropping by. You want to create an environment of peace and quiet so that you can focus on thinking into place what you want to accomplish. Take out a copy of your Mind Model and read through all the words you wrote carefully and with the passionate intention that they manifest on your body. Time yourself and see how long it takes. You might have to repeat it several times. Try not to let your mind wander into other things you’ve got happening in your life. Work to keep your thought focused on only those ideas you wrote down. It sometimes helps to light a candle during this step so that you can focus on the flame and allow it to represent your intention.

It might seem that 45 minutes a day is too much to stop doing all of your other activities and zero in on your Mind Model. In a mental world where your thought is causative, the only way to activate that Cause, is to think, so please indulge me and Just Do It, as Nike recommends. I have found that this discipline actually serves as a reminder to myself of what I truly desire at other times throughout the day and that as I get better at this, I am “praying without ceasing” as instructed. You can renew the way you think about your Self.

4. Congratulate Yourself Each Night & Renew Your Intention For The Next Day. Recognition and Gratitude are a big part of success when working mentally. Each evening, take notice of what you accomplished during the day? Did you create a Mind Model? Do you have copies strategically posted? Did you accomplish three fifteen-minute think sessions? If not, can you do that tomorrow? Do you recognize the value of doing this mental work? If not, are you willing to persevere until you do? Did you see doubt and fear that the process will or won’t work? What did you do to eliminate them. They will block your progress. Are you truly grateful you discovered this new method so you can get off the diet and exercise yo-yo syndrome? If you don’t feel accomplished today, can you work to feel accomplished tomorrow?

Please pat yourself on the back for the things you did accomplish today – maybe it was only one 15 minute session. Hooray! Celebrate that one. Look inside you. How did it make you feel while you were thinking it? Hopeful? Yay! Celebrate the good feeling. And what precisely and specifically are your plans for tomorrow? Good! Everyday is a new beginning. Now you can sleep well.

5. Persevere. “Never, never, never quit.” Winston Churchill. He also said “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm. If this is a spiritual or mental experience, how long can you hold your thoughts in line with what you say you want as an ideal body? Certainly you are worth all the effort it takes. So, never, never, never quit. Do these five steps until you see the results you want. The battlefield is being fought inside your own mind and you can win this fight.

I have persevered for so many years I have lost count. There have been a lot of bumps in the road. I’ve majorly supported the diet industry. There have been many, many fears and doubts to dig out by the roots. There has been a lot of criticism for what appeared to be me doing nothing. (How could they see inside me to know I was working hard?) Men who needed sexy chicks to feel good about themselves have rejected me. But I’ve never quit. And after my learning how coupled with both doing and perseverance, I am experiencing success. I am reshaping my body to the real me that’s been inside here for all these years. Nobody told me how specifically. Nobody else knew what to tell me. I’m so happy I can share this with you. Please share this with your friends who suffer over having a bodily expression that dissatisfies them. There’s hope, and now you have the tools to keep yourself fresh and on track when you are mentally re-shaping your body.

Failure Could Be Your Biggest Advantage to Double Your Income

Posted by mallton on September 12th, 2009

No one likes to fail, and I’m sure it’s hard to see how it could possibly double your income. However, those scrapes and bruises could define your ability to make it through a rough time. With the economy as turbulent as it is today, this type of skill could prove invaluable. When you learn the consequences of your actions, you became a stronger person that is able to stand up to adverse times.

We’ve all faced our share of tough lessons. There are very few of us that just woke up one day and had it all planned out and were ready to go. I was one of those people that took about 30 years to figure out how to get out of debt, double my income, or just simply do something I love.

I have been married and divorced. I proposed to a lady a few years ago who turned me down when I was in the height of my career. I was side struck and devastated. I honestly never saw it coming. I moped around for over a half a year before I met Karyn.

Karyn was the lady that I had wanted to meet my whole life. I got down on bended knee in front of an audience of 100 people at a life-transforming seminar in Hawaii recently. She said “Yes!” I couldn’t be happier. I would never have experienced this type of joy if it hadn’t been for my previous “failure”.

Thirty years ago, I started applying for jobs trying to figure out what I loved. I had my heart set on this job for six months. When I didn’t get it, I was a wreck. The truth of the matter is that I never would have gotten the job making a speech that launched my career as a teacher and mentor. In all likelihood, if I had gotten that job, I would still be working 60 hours a week and a very unhappy man. This failure launched me to the level of success that I enjoy today.

Not all failure has to be bad. Take those failures and use them as your new set of skills to identify the things in life that really matter to you. I know that during a tough time, the chances to double your income may seem dismal, but you have to start somewhere.

Some of the greatest opportunist rediscovered the Law of Attraction and positive thinking during tough times. Did you know that Napoleon Hill wrote one of the best-selling books of all time, Think and Grow Rich, during the middle of The Depression? He ended up creating a formula for some of the most influential teachers. Franklin D. Roosevelt was even known to employ his advice.

Let’s get started down the road of success together. Take this turbulent economy and make an opportunity of it. Learn how to solve your problems. When you or your friends start to complain, take a different approach. Try to find a solution. The ability to double your income depends largely on your ability to move through a situation with strength and courage to do what you love.

Get Out of Chores and Get Out of Debt

Posted by mallton on September 11th, 2009

How do you get out of debt? You could procrastinate. When you learn to leverage your procrastination as a tool, anything is possible. So many times, people try to cure themselves of the procrastination. This would be like going to your doctor and asking them to cure a bruise on your arm. Although he may treat the bruise, he won’t cure the reason that you got the bruise.

The same goes for procrastination. You might end up pushing yourself through a given task, but it’s not getting it done that’s stopping you. The reason you aren’t getting it done is the root of the problem. You don’t like doing that particular task or it would already be done. Well, don’t do it. I’m sure there is either someone more qualified or someone who enjoys doing it out there.

I have always been a huge believer in not doing what you don’t love. So much so, that if anyone on my staff comes to me and says they don’t like a particular job, I either take them off it, hire a new person to do it, or take the task out of the list. If someone on my team doesn’t like doing something, it is counterproductive. I end up losing money.

You can apply this to any area of your life, too. For example, I love to clean up the kitchen. I don’t like mowing the lawn. I don’t care too much for organizing the garage or drawers of accumulated junk, but I get a lot of pleasure out of cleaning the kitchen. My daughter Julianne could go in the kitchen, make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and ruin the whole thing. It would make me so irritated. Even though I love to clean the kitchen, I felt taken advantage of.

Finally, one day I came to her and said, “You know what Julianne? I love cleaning the kitchen, but I feel like you are taking advantage of me. You are no longer allowed to clean the kitchen.”

“Why,” she asked.

I told her that since she didn’t do it anyway and obviously didn’t love doing it, I wasn’t going to treat her any differently than anyone else. I asked her to find something that she loved doing. She thought about it and said that she would do all the laundry in the house. That sounded like a good deal to me. She could do all my laundry, and I would do the kitchen.

The amount of time it took to clean the laundry was about the same as the amount of time I spent cleaning the kitchen. It was a win-win situation. We both got to do more of what we loved and less of what we didn’t.

So if you find yourself struggling to get out of debt. Ask yourself what is it that’s keeping you from paying a bill. Do you hate your job? Do you need someone to manage your money for you? Is there someone else that could help you?
