New Year!

Posted by mallton on December 30th, 2009

Happy New Year to Everyone

The next year I wish everybody :

- More understanding
- More love
- More compassion
- More happiness, which is sometimes achieved by giving
- More luck in life
- More health
- More positive activity

I wish also everybody to experience some great states of happiness, health, and well-being. Just wish well to everybody and you will be better off in your life! Life is rewarding those people who are good to each other. Try to learn every day from life, by watching and observing others as well as yourself! You will learn a lot just by observing.

Please, be giving to each other, help each other out, also with money. Money is not always happiness, but it helps to live a better life, used well.

Help others succeed. Use what you got - your skilss, talents etc. to help others and you will be greatly rewarded. Life is about giving love - giving love to as many as you can and when you can. Because you don’t know when you have that chance again!

Please try to observe good things in life. Try to be more understanding, more compassionate towards your loved ones. This is important in life really! You will notice the difference in peoples attitudes towards you as you do this! People will also notice the way you are behaving and will resopnd to you. I think people need more love expressed towards each other, giving love is number one thing you should be doing. Whether you are a mother, a father providing for the family or a teenager or entertainer, you should be giving people good emotions and love. Because this is how the world gets better, really.

Love is universal. We all want to be loved and understood, etc. We love being loved and understood and we respond then with our best. People need that.

Especially as 2010 is approaching, we will need more love and understanding.
People should care more for each other and be less selfish and notice others first maybe sometimes. Giving is a thing you can do any time, any where. You can give good advice, words or attitude. It does not matter what you are giving as long as you do that. Everyone can give something. It will make you happier, as well, because giving is important in life. It helps create a better karma for you and improve your life in general by elevating your emotional state. Yes, it helps overall!

I am a starting author, who is working to provide readers with a steady supply of fresh material.

Increasing your personal independence

Posted by mallton on December 29th, 2009

Anyone who tells you that you should always be yourself under any circumstances does not have your best interest in mind. On the contrary, placing yourself in difficult situations for no good reason will prevent you from enjoying life and leave you little energy to develop your talents. Being authentic is great, but not at any cost.

When it comes to pursuing your dreams, you will be much better off if you do it the right way. Minimizing your psychological and financial dependence on other people’s opinion is a prerequisite for being able to make your own choices without fearing dire consequences. My point is that it is perfectly rational to avoid confrontation in situations from which you cannot walk away.

Increasing individual independence from third parties’ opinions is such a fundamental skill that it should be taught at school. The idea that only millionaires possess the means to speak out their mind is false, although unfortunately, such an argument is frequently invoked to favor conformism. The truth is that everyone can take steps to protect his privacy and integrity. In my experience, the following two strategies are particularly useful:

1. DO NOT VOLUNTEER PERSONAL INFORMATION. There is little advantage in providing details of your private life to strangers, colleagues at work, employers, suppliers, or anyone who does not belong to your circle of close friends. Why should you give anyone the opportunity to use that information against you or the power to manipulate you in anyway?

Rudeness is unnecessary to protect your private life and, to prying questions, it is often wise to give a vague reply. In most cases, people will accept your reluctance to provide personal details and change the subject.

2. SAVE REGULARLY, IF POSSIBLE, EVERY MONTH. Accumulating a financial cushion will do wonders to protect your peace of mind and personal freedom. The temptation to engage into doubtful business or professional practices can hardly tempt a man who possesses enough savings. He will be able to used those to quit his job and spend a couple of months searching for a new position.

Nobody needs to be a millionaire to be able to do that. The real bedrock of self-confidence is not magic or make-belief, but financial foresight. If you save regularly every month, it should not take you too long to accumulate a financial cushion that can take you through a rough period in your professional life.

Make the decision to bring your dependence on other people’s opinion down to a negligible level. Find polite ways to show your determination to protect your private life. It is easier than you think and it will save you lots of problems down the line.

Establish a reasonable monthly savings goal for yourself and stick to it until you reach your desire level of safety. By adopting these simple measures and implementing them consistently, you can substantially enhance your well-being, peace of mind, and happiness.

6 Clichés You Can Use and Abuse

Posted by mallton on December 28th, 2009

Clichés are phrases that lots of people use everyday to convey some sort of idea or message. They’re basically overused metaphors and if you’re like me you’re always looking for a silly new phrase to add to your vocabulary. Below are ten new clichés you can use and misuse from now on.

Good Things Come in Little Packages

This is definitely one of the truest clichés out there. Think about all of the great things that come in small packages, you’ve got jewelry, gift cards, poker chip sets, plane tickets and so much more. Remember this next Christmas.

A Nod is As Good As a Wink to a Blind Horse

This is a strange one, but also very true. If you’re interested in someone, but they aren’t available or simply not interested in you then give up.

Weasel Your Way In

I don’t know much about weasels, but apparently they’re pretty slick animals and they get what they want.

Stand the Gaff

I have absolutely no idea what this cliché means. Perhaps something like stay strong? Either way, this is a great cliché that you can misuse on a regular basis.

Not Worth a Plugged Nickel

Alright, I’m not sure what the difference between a regular nickel and plugged nickel is, but either way this saying is pretty much self-explanatory. Whether the nickel is plugged or not it’s really not worth much.

Bald As a Cucumber

Well this is certainly a great clichéd insult that you can throw at your unfortunate balding friends. I’m not sure they’ll appreciate the metaphor though.
